Vaucher Père et Fils

Burgundy

Between Auxerre and Mâcon area, the vineyard of Burgundy extends over only 28,841 hectares, and produces 84 "Appellations d’Origine Contrôlée" (controlled origin designation). Its wines belong to the most prestigious appellations in the world and are being crafted by women and men across six different wine regions. Our wines reflect those exceptional terroirs, located between hilly sights, monumental cliffs and sunbathed slopes.

Tasting notes

Color: Bright garnet with purplish highlights.

Nose: A bouquet with aromas of raspberry, cherry and ripe fruit. Subtle vegetal or spicy notes such as elderberry and clove are added.

Palate: Supple and elegant, very structured, with present but discreet tannins.

Wine and food pairing

Its silky tannins and rounded texture make it ideal for Parma-style hams or fibrous meats such as rabbit or boiled beef. Offal in sauce or game birds are also perfect accompaniments. Also try it with curried meat and poultry or very aromatic marinated vegetables. It goes well with mild cheeses such as Vacherin, Reblochon or Cîteaux.

Origins

Village appellation from the Côte de Beaune. Of the three villages that guard the Cortons hillside (with Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses), Ladoix-Serrigny is the northernmost. Situated at almost equal distance from Beaune and Nuits-Saint-Georges, it marks the border between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. The Ladoix vineyard extends over approximately 105 hectares, of which 73 hectares are Pinot Noir.

Vinification & ageing

Grapes are hand-picked, passed over a sorting table, crushed, de-stemmed, then vatted for about 15 days and matured in barrels for about 12 months.
